From the June 2009 Review of Small Business Accounting Systems: Tier II

EASE OF USE/BASIC FUNCTIONALITY:
NetSuite is an easily navigated system, designed to fit the needs of varying levels of employees. All system users receive assigned roles with each fully customizable. Also available is a Controller role, where an accountant can have access to reports and other relevant activities as often as needed. System access is entirely role-based, with program access based on the assigned role. Each role has its own customized dashboard that suits each of the assigned roles so that salespeople will be able to access appropriate reports without having access to sensitive accounting functions.

At the top of the navigation screen is a series of tabs that provide access to all of the functions available. These tabs are role-specific and change according to user needs and accessibility requirements so your eCommerce Manager can view a custom dashboard that includes an eCommerce scorecard that details vital information such as page hits, web orders, unique visitors and cart abandonment percentage, while your Inventory Manager can review key performance indicators, reminders and a list of late shipments.

Navigating through NetSuite is effortless, and all information and data-entry screens are constructed for user ease, with lookup options and drop-down menus throughout.

CORE ACCOUNTING/SECURITY FUNCTIONS:
Along with the core accounting modules (GL, AP, AR, and the add-on Payroll Service module), NetSuite also features Inventory and Sales components that integrate seamlessly into the core product. Another strong feature of NetSuite is its excellent eCommerce function that works in tandem with the Inventory module to not only track orders but maintain product levels, updating inventory after items are purchased online and providing an excellent tracking system for both inventory management and ecommerce activities.
